"A piece 'Avoid Dollar-Store Health Pitfalls' (RD Aug'10) suggests that the government department responsible for safety/health issues is not doing its job. Something is wrong here. Why are these products allowed to enter Canada if they don't live up to our standards? Obviously, there is more interest in purchasing from other countries, to the detriment of our own unemployed. If other countries had to adjust their ingredients, they wouldn't be so cheap and we would be better to compete.
Buy Canadian as much as possible! I shop around before buying an article made elsewhere, although it is getting more and more difficult to do so." - Nancy Molson, Dalkeith ON (Readers Digest)
