Stone Facial Massage: relax, rejuvenate, and reenergize

As the summer has drawn to a close, back to school/work has happened, and the weather is starting to get cooler and drearier, we all may need a pick-me-up. TSB suggests you try using facial massage stones, to relax, feel better physically, and help with aging

Using both warm and cold stones stimulate blood flow to your face, which helps to flush the lymph nodes, allowing facial tissue to absorb nutrients and oxygen, leaving the skin with an overall more positive and youthful appearance and glow. Warm stones help to improve circulation, cleanse lymph nodes, reduce wrinkles and induce body relaxation, whereas cold stones reduce inflammation and help to reduce pain. As such, it is beneficial to use both warm and cold stones, alternating, to increase circulation and blood flow to your face.

Start your facial massage by gently massaging your face, using a light yet viscose massage cream. Once your have stimulated your facial tissue and helped yourself relax, you can either use the warm stones alone, or alternate those with cold stones, placing them strategically upon your face. You may then choose to use the warm stones to give yourself a slightly deeper facial massage, working on the points in your face in which you carry most tension. Once you have completed the stone massage, you may want to leave your face untouched for a few moments, allowing your face to relax fully.

When you have completed the massage entirely, you can either choose to leave the massage cream on your face as an overnight deep moisturizing treatment, or cleanse, followed by your usual skin care regime.

Please consult a physician before receiving a stone facial if you are pregnant, suffer from heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes or are under constant care by a clinical professional.
